Thomas Test

*Assessing tightness of the anterior fascial line, deep hip flexors, quads and TFL.

Thomas test is a positive or a negative test. A POSITIVE test means you’re hip flexors and quads are TIGHT, a NEGATIVE test means you don’t need to stretch these areas so much.

Positive- One knee is kept hugged to chest and the dropped knee is unable to get parallel to the table and is angled upwards

Negative- One knee is kept hugged to chest and the dropped knee gets to parallel or below parallel and has no trouble dropping to floor

**Note if the dropped knee gets pulled to the outside, this is an additional sign of tight lateral thigh and glute muscles!
